| The First World Assembly
of Disabled Peoples' International ( D P I ) was held in Singapore
in 1981, the purpose of DPI is to promote the Human Rights of People
with Disabilities through full participation, equalization of opportunity
and development. DPI is a grassroots, cross-disability network with
member organizations in over 110 countries. The countries of the
World are divided into five regions; Asia/Pacific, Africa, Europe,
North America/Caribbean and Latin America. The Asia/Pacific Regional
Council is divided into five Sub-Regions to ensure equal representation
across the largest and most populated Region in the World. These
Sub-Regions are Oceania, North Asia, South-East Asia, South Asia
& West Asia. The Region stretches from the Middle East to Tahiti
and from Australia to Mongolia. If you want to know more information
