The regional arm of the United Nations Secretariat for the Asian and Pacific region is the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

It helps build women's organisational capabilities and skills towards long-term empowerment. It engages in action research, trainings and community-based education as facilitators of women's indigenous ways and wisdom so that women and other disadvantaged sectors can crystallise and systematise the knowledge they create.
