Myth Fact
People with physical disabilities are also mentally disabled. Physical disability does not mean mental disorder. People who are physically disabled are sometimes as able as everyone else.
People with disabilities (physical, intellectual and sensory) are unable to work. Contrary to that, people who suffer from this impairment are still able to work in the open market or in a sheltered workshop.
People with disabilities have very different needs from healthy individuals. People with disabilities have similar basic needs and they go through similar developmental stages. They need to be loved and cared for, receive education to help them learn and grow and find a job to become financially independent. They also have needs to set up families and grow old like everybody else.
