Well, this is not a simple question. Many sighted people do do not fully appreciate the problems visually handicapped or blind people face when moving about.
Things that the sighted take for granted may be significant problems to the blind. Just take a look at the following cartoons.
REMEMBER: When guiding the blind, please talk to them about what you are seeing and what you intend to do. It will go a long way to help them appreciate the situation around them, which you can see so clearly but not them.
